THERAPY WITH ME

I think of therapy as a conversation and connection between two, equal people. We meet, we chat, and together, we figure out:

What's not working.
What feels bad.
What needs listening to.
What needs healing.
What's working ( and how to do more of it).
What skills we can build to help.
What do we need to feel like ourselves again.

We co-research all this stuff through questions, reflections, body-awareness, and support.

What this translates to: I ask a lot of questions. Sometimes I drink coffee too. Sometimes I tell bad jokes. Sometimes you cry. Sometimes we laugh until our stomachs hurt. Sometimes I just listen. Sometimes I shit talk people who hurt you. Sometimes I teach you stuff. Sometimes you teach me stuff. No matter what, I’ll always be real with you.

One of the coolest things about therapy is the therapeutic relationship. Not only do we get to figure out all the stuff I just listed but, if I do my job well, I get to model what a happy, healthy, positive, supportive, caring, and loving relationship looks and feels like.

With the right therapist, therapy can be empowering, inspiring, supportive, fun, experimental, safe, and - maybe for a while - the one place you can 100% be yourself.
